Video on the board

▶New

Put a YouTube or Vimeo video — or a link to an .mp4 / .webm file — on the board as a card, and play it right there, without leaving the lesson.

Find itInsert → Video…. Paste the link from the address bar or the video's Share button. Slate says which kind of video it found, fills in the title when the site provides it, and shows the card before you place it.
Start part-wayStart at takes a time such as 1:30. A link that already carries a time (YouTube's Share → Start at) fills it in for you.
Play itTap the play button on the card. The player opens over the card, at its size — or larger, in the middle, when the card is too small to watch. Esc or ✕ puts it away. Double-click, or Play in the right-click menu, does the same. A tap anywhere else on the card just selects it, so you can move, resize or delete it like any picture.
Change itRight-click → Change link… swaps the video, title or start time on the same card.
In a live classStudents get the card like anything else on the board, and can tap play to watch it on their own screen. As the presenter, right-click → Play for the class opens the player on every student's screen at once; closing yours closes theirs.
Saved with the lessonThe card is saved, printed and exported as a picture; the link travels with it, so it plays again when the lesson is opened. Playing needs an internet connection, and the video's own site decides what it shows (some videos can't be embedded, and a site may show adverts).
The picture on the cardWhen the video site allows it, the card shows the video's own picture; otherwise it gets a plain card with the title. Either way the board still exports cleanly.
