21Classroom tools
A rich countdown for group work, quizzes and transitions. Pick a preset or tap the time to type your own, then start. The ring winds down as the clock ticks, the last fifteen seconds flash an amber warning, and when time's up the dial pulses and a gentle chime sounds.
Find itTools → Classroom timer opens a floating, draggable timer. It lives in Tools to keep the top bar clear, and during a show there is a Timer button on the presenter bar — so it is to hand whether you are teaching from the board or presenting a deck. Finishing a show puts it away and resets it, the same way the laser and the curtain are turned off on the way out.
Use itChoose 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes, nudge with the ± buttons, or tap the time to enter any duration (minutes, or mm:ss). Start / Pause and Reset as you go; the speaker button toggles the end chime, and the music note plays gentle 432Hz ambience while the clock runs; drag the header to reposition it anywhere on screen.
Four modesTabs at the top of the card: Countdown, Stopwatch (with laps and splits you can copy), Agenda and Alarm (count down to a time on the clock).
AgendaChain blocks together — Starter 5, Main 25, Plenary 10 — and it moves on by itself with a different chime for "next" than for "finished". Repeat turns it into rounds, so Pomodoro and interval timers are just saved agendas. Templates are built in, and you can save your own.
While it runsGive it a name, adjust with ±1 and ±5 without stopping, and turn on count past zero to see by how much you have overrun. The screen is kept awake while it runs.
QuietlyThe chime can be swapped for a flash, so a silent room still knows. Shortcuts while the timer has focus: Space start, R reset, L lap, N next segment, arrows for ±1 and ±5.
Hold the viewIn a live session, Hold the view freezes what the class can see while you set up what comes next. They keep receiving everything — they simply stop being shown it — so releasing reveals the finished thing at once rather than replaying how you got there. A dashed edge reminds you it is held.
Everyone togetherIn a shared session the timer travels with the room, and anyone joining late lands on exactly the right second. Students see it as a small clock in the corner (they can expand it) without your controls, and the Collab panel always opens above it. Closing the timer (✕, Tools → Timer, or the presenter bar) stops it and closes it for the class, so nothing chimes later; use − (minimise) to keep one running out of the way. A student who closes their copy hears no chime for that run.
Heads-upThe timer floats above your board for everyone to see — it doesn't draw on the board, so it never affects your lesson, replay or exports.
