18Showmanship
The beats manager comes with a director's kit. Spotlight dims everything but a moving pool of light. Theatre turns the surround into a starlit stage. Play all runs your whole deck end to end. And you can shape the beats themselves — splitting, merging, trimming or reordering the steps.
Find itThe manager's bar has two halves. Along the top: the board picker, the transport (restart, previous and next beat, play, the scrubber and the speed dial), the look of it — Spotlight Theatre Play all — and at the far end, set apart, the things you do when you are done: Save .slate Export GIF Back to board. Beneath it, the Beats panel, with the strip on a line of its own and everything you can do to a beat grouped under it. Fold the whole panel away with Beats when you are only showing the lesson.
Use itToggle Spotlight or Theatre for presence; switch on Play all for a continuous show; jump to any board; and delete, merge or split beats, or select a range.
ReorderThe order a diagram was built in is a sensible start, not the only way to explain it — you might want the outcome first, or to walk a flowchart back from where it failed. Tap a beat and use ◀ ▶ to play it earlier or later, or drag a beat chip onto another to drop it there. A run of neighbouring beats moves together. The board follows the strip, and the new order is saved with the file.
